Packing

CQ Blog Posted on Sat, September 22, 2007 11:39

Just a short update, I’ll be travelling on Monday and decided to start packing today. I got all the stuff layed out on my old bed and now need to decide what comes with me and what doesn’t. taking into account that I need to drag it probably several times in the coming weeks.

What a fun job…

Still, looking forward to it very much

Ciao

Only 4 days away

CQ Blog Posted on Thu, September 20, 2007 18:15

What a fun week… It seems everybody is thinking I’m moving off the planet and therefore requires my services… OK, that’s maybe a bit harsh but the fact is everybody is more than willing to have dinner with me. Tuesday was a great day with the girls of the Willem van Noortstraat in Utrecht, although they made me watch Net 5’s girls night as a thanks for the dinner (which they said they had enjoyed…).

Wednesday I went to Amsterdam and I returned somewhere in the afternoon today (Thursday). What a great evening-night-morning it was!

Tomorrow I’ll bring a visit to my old house: pick up the mail, have some dinner take a bike with me on the way home. The weekend should be for packing and then it’s on!

Damn I look forward to this, as always I’ll keep y’all up to date right here.

Ciao,

ps. Would have loved to add some photo’s but none were taken, sorry

Just a week to go

CQ Blog Posted on Sun, September 16, 2007 22:37

And then I’m off to the UK!!!

I’m really really looking forward to it, even though I haven’t received confirmation of accomodation… Anyway the agenda is close to being packed for this last week and in the mean time I’ve got to do some laundry and still sort out the last of my stuff.

Did I mention I am looking forward to my start at So’ton Uni?

Well, I guess that’s it for now. Those who need to know, know.

Ciao,

in between spot

CQ Blog Posted on Wed, September 12, 2007 14:49

I have officially left the building…

The ORW building that is. With a bit more junk than I expected to have gathered over the past few years I am now setting up camp at my parents’ place before leaving for the UK in about a weeks time.

Got a lot to sort out so I’ll keep this post short. I’ll keep y’all updated.

Counting down the days…

CQ Blog Posted on Mon, September 03, 2007 10:28

The forms (yep, unfortunately people are still using paper forms) are coming in now, so I can finalise my enrolment with the Ship Science program. Luckily other things, such as housing can be arranged via the interweb.

Besides filling out forms I am packing up my stuff in Delft. I have got a lot of ‘research stuff’ lying around and that is filling the moving boxes faster than one can imagine… The campus I am probably moving to doesn’t have the space to bring all that stuff with me, so my old room at my parents now also becomes my storage space (and not only theirs!).

Anyway, I’ll be off to sell some boats this coming week. If you’re visiting the HISWA show come by the Dehler stand.

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CQ Blog Posted on Fri, August 31, 2007 10:21

Got not only confirmation of my position with the Ship Science course via the admissions tutor, but also on the UCAS-website!

So the little doubt that was still present has melted away and packing is now well underway. Now all I have to do is wait for a personal number from So’ton University so I can finalise housing arrangements and get started on getting English stuff for my stay there.

I’ll keep y’all updated.

Ciao,

Strange Times…

CQ Blog Posted on Mon, August 27, 2007 22:21

Strange times indeed,

I’ve closed the Delft chapter but I’m still living there and involved with student-life. On the other hand I just got back from a weekend of sailing (and working on the boat). The coming month is filled with arranging stuff for the UK, some working to make some pocket money (sell boats) and I don’t know what yet. I am not sure how to cope with all that (but am sure I’ll manage). The biggest problem I have now is that I promised my parents to call them and I only just realise it (and it’s way past their bedtime…). I made a note to make sure I would do that first thing in the morning.

Another mention of something nice about a weekend of beercan-races: I got a present from the team after the races… The good faith I have in people was not rewarded, I got pushed in the drink and got a wet suit, thank god the water is already nice and warm and oakley makes these glases that stay on your head in the toughest conditions.

Keep y’all updated.

Breskens Sailing Weekend

CQ Blog Posted on Fri, August 24, 2007 08:01

I’m almost off for my latest weekend of sailing (and racing) with the Eclectic Sailing Team (for the near future). Today and Monday some work on the boat (and a delivery), Saturday and Sunday some racing in a relaxed atmosphere.

Results and/or photos might appear here next week.

Ciao,

Send in…

CQ Blog Posted on Mon, August 20, 2007 21:22

Today I sent out my clearance passport to Southampton… The rest of the day has been filled with working through forms from different organisations, varying from the IB-group to insurance papers.

Anyway, just a short update and now I’ll have to wait for the confirmation from So’ton and get everything on the move.

Ciao,
